I am in the market for a new comforter. Right now, I have a really cute white one with a light blue border but the big problem is that it’s white. It stays pretty clean for the most part but one little spill or piece of dirt and it’s to the cleaners with the bedspread. Thinking its probably better to get a darker color or something not WHITE!!!
Here are some looks I am liking. Maybe with Christmas and sales around the corner, I can find a good deal. Why are comforter sets so expensive??
In the interest of talking bedding, I wanted to share this fabulous tip on how to fold a fitted sheet. Some probably think I am crazy but I getting excited about this stuff. And I bet at least half of you take those fitted sheets, crumple it up and shove it in your closet. Wouldn’t it be nicer if it was folded neat and in line with the top sheet.
1. With the sheet inside out, place one hand in each of two adjacent corners.
2. Bring your right hand to your left, and fold the corner in your right hand over the one in your left, so the corner on top is right side out. Next, reach down and pick up the corner that is adjacent to the one that was in your right hand (it will be hanging in front), and fold it over the other two; this third corner will be inside out.
3. Bring the last corner up, and fold it over the others so it is right side out.
4. Lay the sheet flat, and straighten it into the shape shown above.
5. Fold the two edges in, folding the edge with elastic in first, so all elastic is hidden.
6. Fold the strip into a smaller rectangle.
7. Continue folding until rectangle is the size you want.
And once you have all your sheets folded neat and nicely, you can take this little tip and store bedlinen sets inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match.
I am a sucker for organizing. We have a small cozy apartment and we need to maximize all the space we can. Tools for efficient living is right up my alley…and let’s face it, I am super serious about being organized (ask anyone who knows me about my fabulous excel spreadsheets…wink wink). Here are some things that are perfect for organizing and maximize a tight living space…
Wall Mount Grocery Bag Holder by Simply Human. This contraption is fabulous. I purchased this a while back and love it. Before I had this, my plastic grocery bags were all over the place and falling out of my cabinet. This mounts on the inside of our shelf and doesn’t take up much room at all – and keeps those plastic bags organized and in place. Highly recommend…
Wire Spice Racks. I like this concept because I do have a lot of spices and they are so unorganized. There is no rhyme or reason and I end up taking out all my spices just to fine the garlic powder. This would be ideal to put on the inside of the cabinet (again, wont crow your space or spices) and make it easy to find whatever spice you need at the moment. This is going on the Christmas List (I know, the little things that make me happy)
Utensil Storage. I found this project on Honeyandfitz.blogspot.com. I love this idea…When I go to grab a ½ cup, it always is a hassle fishing through the draw and finding the right measurements. This gets the cups and measuring spoons organized and available. I may need to enlist my brother in law for help with this project.
Cabinet-Sized Mesh Drawer Solution. What I like about this is that it allows you to take advantage of the vertical space in your cabinet while allowing easy access to and visibility of the contents. I could use this in my bathroom cabinet or even my pans in the kitchen. Currently I have storage bins in my bathroom closet buts its just a pain to pull the boxes out and search to find what I am looking for. This seems like a much smarter and efficent use of space.
And to tie everything together….Chalk Adhesive Labels. I found these on Etsy (of course). These babies are perfect to label and organize. There are endless possibilities for the self adhesive labels and lets face it…super cute!
Morning!!! One more day until the weekend…woowho!
Today I thought I would share some essentials of my “dream” home. A girl can dream, right??? Or maybe hit the lottery….
Well hello awesome kitchen….this massive island is the best part of this kitchen
Old fashion clawfoot tub, say no more
Look at this laundry room, I mean, come on…how awesome. I would have the cleanest clothes on the block!
What a creative idea for a coffee table. Maybe I dont need the lottery for this one?
But maybe need the lottery for this closet….especially if I want to fill it with fabulous things. This closet is like half the size of my whole apartment.
Love the dual windows with that color scheme. And that chandalier…oh my!
How cool is this…seems pretty easy to make. And yes, I will take the vineyard in the background to fill up this table with wine
These vaulted ceilings are amazing…love this rustic feel!
Yes – Another Laundry room…but come on, how pretty!!!
Lastly, this fabulous outside kitchen for entertaining. A total must for my dream home…
